We all know music is fucking awesome; Be it Rap, Rock, House, Ska, there's a little something for everyone. Over the past few years I've been getting way more into both making music and exploring the vast world of music (Mashups are to blame for this in all honesty). I think there's something to appreciate in pretty much every type of music, and it's fun opening up to all different types of sounds and musical expressions among artists :]
My submission to Lone Rabbit's 7th OST Composing Jam. Gonna get this out of the way and say I definitely could've done better with the mixing and I just kinda threw shit into the song to make it more "dynamic," but it was still a fun time & I like a lot of the ideas I put into the submission. The optional theme was "Inside My World," so I thought it'd be a neat idea to make the fake game I was composing for a sandbox title, with the image theme provided giving me the idea to make it a game about creating your own sea creatures and then swimming around with them in your own aquascapes; Think the "3D Worlds" in Mario Artist: Paint Studio, but with a more robust creature creation system. I was heavily inspired by 90s-era Hip-Hop while producing Make a Fish, with a fair bit of 2000s Electronic influence with Load or Save a Fish, so despite a game like this almost definitely not being able to fit on a GameCube disc, I thought the music would fit quite snugly into that era of gaming, hence why I went with a GameCube theme for the cover art. Most of my time was spent on Make a Fish; The other 2 tracks were pretty much thrown together on the last day as bonus pieces. Didn't win anything with this obviously, but oh well, least I tried I suppose.
Made this for a jam I saw on Itch.io - gullo's Friendly Music Jam 2 - approximately 12 hours before the jam's deadline. Ended up not being able to submit it before deadline because the site was being an asshole but gullo very graciously granted me a post-deadline submission form so things ended up working out in the end. Not anything amazing but I'm happy with what I got done. You can still see my desperation to submit this on the song's Itch page!
